Who we are
This site and its tools are run by Nero Engine Group Ltd, trading as Nero Labs, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16521432), registered office 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under number ZB914271. Contact: founder@neroengine.com.
What we collect and why
- The checker. Your answers stay in your browser. We record which result was shown (for example "must check") so we can see how the tool is used. This is not linked to you.
- Visit statistics. We count page views, the page that sent you here, the country your visit came from (as reported by our hosting provider) and the type of device. We do not use cookies, we do not store your IP address, and we cannot identify you from this.
- Email sign-up. If you give us your email, we store it with the checker result you reached, to tell you about our right to work tools. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we will delete it.
- Purchases. Payments are taken by Stripe. We receive your name, email, billing address and what you bought, but never your full card details. We keep purchase records for 6 years because tax law requires it.
- The record keeper (paid tool). When a business uses it, the business decides what is stored about its subcontractors (such as names, check dates, share code results and expiry dates). For that information the business is the data controller and we act as its data processor, only following its instructions. Records are deleted when the business deletes them or closes its account, and the tool reminds the business when the legal keeping period (the engagement plus 2 years) has passed.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run the site: Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Stripe (payments) and our email and customer records provider. We never sell your data.
Where it is stored
With Cloudflare and Stripe, which may process data outside the UK under the UK's approved safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum).
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or ask us to stop. Email us and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The Record Keeper sets one login cookie, which is needed to keep you signed in. Stripe's checkout pages set their own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud.
